Vestae: Creative Academy at Fuorisalone 2016

Its title is Vestae, meaning: to Vesta. To the Goddess of domestic life, home and the sacred flame is dedicated the project realized for the 2016 edition of the Salone del Mobile by Creative Academy along with the Cologni Foundation for the Métiers d’Art, with the support of the Maison Van Cleef & Arpels. The twenty students of the Master of Arts in Design and Applied Arts of Creative Academy, led by Alberto Nespoli and Domenico Rocca, founders together with Leo Prusicki of the new brand Eligo, create a collection with particular materials, such as natural sponge, soap and waffle fabrics, relying on the knowhow of three time-honoured Italian artisanal workshops: Busatti, Cose della Natura and Valobra.

The students have developed the brief entirely, not only designing a capsule collection enhancing the texture, fragrances, colors and expressive potential of the materials, but also concentrating on the packaging, the exhibition setup and the graphics related to the communication of the project. The exhibition will be staged in an emblematic setting: the Albergo Diurno Venezia in Milan, attributed to the legendary architect Piero Portaluppi and conceived as a symbol of the Milanese well-being, granted to FAI by the Municipality of Milan.
