10 recommended podcasts, between design, culture and pure entertainment

News — 15 February 2021

A useful guide to help you find your way around the growing number of quality audio products available online.

The pandemic has made us accustomed to spending much more time than usual at home, often alone, and to reviewing our 'cultural consumption' habits. It is no coincidence that one of the most evident trends of the last year, also in Italy, is the renaissance of podcasts and, more generally, of the whole sector of so-called 'audio entertainment'. As reported by Wired, the Ipsos Digital Audio Survey highlights a gradual but always increasing growth of audio enjoyment, where podcasts are gaining more and more advantage over radio or the world of audiobooks, with proposals always very targeted and differentiated

The strength of this medium lies in its ability to replicate contents that may be more typically for radio, adding the digital aspect that gives the listener the maximum of freedom on where, how and when to listen. Absolute flexibility.
In addition, the many themes addressed, in the most innovative and enjoyable forms of storytelling and entertainment, make the podcast a truly powerful tool of communication, which gives real importance to words and not to fleeting images and ephemeral contexts. By its very nature, the podcast is a concrete medium, which tells, explains, describes, discusses "through words and their deeper meaning", to quote Paolo Ferrarini.

Here is a selection of podcasts that you might also like. Let's see them together.
