— 29 December 2017

Shapes, colours, materials, ideas, Imm is a showcase of new trends; companies and designers from all over the world – among whom Patricia Urquiola, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Sebastian Herkner – gather here to explore the market and discuss the future of living.

2018 in the furniture and design world starts in Cologne, with the International Furniture Fair imm Cologne from 15th to 21st January. The Cologne fair is an opportunity for design enthusiasts and insiders visiting its shows to find out what direction the design and furniture market will take throughout the year.

Shapes, colours, materials, ideas, Imm is a showcase of new trends; companies and designers from all over the world – among whom Patricia Urquiola, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Sebastian Herkner – gather here to explore the market and discuss the future of living.

1.200 exhibitors from 50 countries enliven the 11 stands of the fair, turning them for a week into a big showroom dedicated to contemporary interior design, experimentation and new technologies. Bringing together big brands and young designers into one huge creative square.

What are the unmissables?

Light will be the main player of the 2018 imm cologne edition and the section Pure Editions will also be a must-see. In this area visitors will be able to see the exhibition Featured Editions that will launch, in the so called Light Labs, all the innovations in the lighting field.

Emerging brands will instead exhibit at Pure Studios, while young design talents will display their works within the space Pure Talents.

But that’s not all: one of the key events will be Das Haus – Interiors on Stage, where the Czech designer Lucie Koldova will light up the various “levels of light”. The 2018 edition will also host a new format, Pure Architects, focusing on the innovations in the field.

Even the city will be enlivened by the fair: the Museum of Applied Arts Cologne and imm cologne are setting up an exhibition curated by Stylepark, with an installation by Werner Aisslinger and a set design by the duo RelvãoKellermann from Munich.
