Fuorisalone is the most important event in the world dedicated to design; since 80’s, it continues to grow, revealing record-breaking numbers.
As official communication platform of the event, Fuorisalone.it in 2019 had 1,348 uploaded events, gathering 2.4 million page views in one week. On Instagram, more than 96,600 photos with the official hashtag.
In 2020, due to Covid, resulting in the cancellation of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, Fuorisalone.it created a new format.
The new Fuorisalone.it platform had a first totally digital phase (Fuorisalone Digital) launched on June 15th with the introduction of two new tools, Fuorisalone TV and Fuorisalone Meets and the channels Fuorisalone China and Fuorisalone Japan , and a second hybrid phase at the end of September: physical, with events located in Milan, and digital, with projects designed for online communication.
The experiment was successful, as the feedback from the companies who took part in the project and with whom there has been a direct confrontation in recent months, useful for evaluating the present but above all for thinking about the future, to what awaits us in 2021 and how to face a new edition of Fuorisalone with Milan as the protagonist.
Some numbers of the 2020 edition
The platform displayed 646 events, 237 of which in the territory, interacting with 378 brands and promoting 678 designers. Fuorisalone TV, after managing a week of talks and live streaming, offers on demand more than 400 videos organized by type and series. 130k unique users browsed the platform, 65% from Italy, the United States as the first foreign country and about 800k page views online.
